Tłı̨chǫ 12 Gathering

The Tłı̨chǫ 12th Gathering was held in Behchokǫ̀, Northwest Territories, from August 23 to 25, 2003.

This gathering brought together citizens from Behchokǫ̀, Whatì, Gamètì, and Wekweètì in a strong expression of Tłı̨chǫ unity.

The image of Chief Monfwi reminds us of the commitments made when Treaty 11 was signed. His words, carried forward by future generations, affirmed that the land would remain as promised. That direction guided Tłı̨chǫ leadership throughout negotiations and shaped the framework of the Tłı̨chǫ Constitution and Agreement.

This gathering stood as an important moment in the journey toward the effective date of the Tłı̨chǫ Government in 2005. It reflects unity across communities and the shared commitment to govern ourselves according to Tłı̨chǫ values.
